Amaya Officially Moved to Toronto and Rebrands to The Stars Group
The betting software giant has moved its headquarters from Montreal to Toronto in an effort to expand its horizons and rebrand itself
Betting software giant Amaya Gaming has moved its headquarters from Montreal to Toronto in an effort to expand its horizons and rebrand itself. The company has launched a brand-new website and corporate logo on top of changing its official name to “The Stars Group”. Amaya has just received approval from the relevant authorities and will now trade on the Toronto Stock market under the stock exchange company name of The Stars Group Inc. with the ticker symbol TSGI.
Who is Amaya Gaming?
Amaya is a Canadian-based casino software developer who has grown immensely in the last few years including its acquisition of one of the oldest player in the online gaming industry, Cryptologic, and Cadillac Jack, a land-based slot machine maker. Amaya is known as the parent company for its highly successful online gambling brand, BetStars, and the largest online poker operator in the world, PokerStars.
What is the purpose of the rebranding?
Many believe that the biggest reason for Amaya’s drastic transformation is to separate the company from its founder, David Baazov, who was charged with insider trading by the Quebec AMF and is currently undergoing an investigation. The move and rebranding will hopefully give Amaya a fresh new start away from any claims of illegal practices.
